Everyone reminds folding papers in his childhood. But the 45cm-high and 30cm-large foldable lamp shows a more sophisticated structure to reach the regular honeycomb pattern.
Japanese designer Kouichi Okamoto is almost the perfect embodiment of the practical designer. He provides smart, light, affordable products ($35) that are even easier to mount that Ikea furnitures. But almost perfect, because its Honeycomb Lamp still have to be hold by clips.
The Honeycomb Lamp was showcased at the last International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC. Okamoto is also responsible for the Balloon Lamp, which is a balloon containing a LED powered by a lithium-ion button-style battery. You can check it on his website. (via nytimes)
