CocolicoEach day, one green design.

The GluehLampe isn’t that original by its design. Huh, let’s reformulate this way: The GluehLampe has an inner beauty. The minimalist lamp takes advantage of an underexploited source of energy, known as the Joule energy, mostly described by the heat generated by every lamp bulb. Traditional low-cost light bulb used to create a lot of heat. Most of it spreads across the room or eventually burn your hand.

This time, it gets sponged by the brick envelope. Which then, radiates it more durably, even if the lamp bulb is turned off. Up to 95% of the heat can be reused by this simple process, says the FormFjord design agency.

So if you think that LED lamps are still very expensive, you should try this one.

What a wonderful idea! Have you measured the heat?

Tut – October 29, 2006

As the heat gets absorbed by the brick, the radiated heat should be a bit
lower that the temperature at the surface of the lamp. It’s depending on the brick coefficient of heat refraction. And we didn’t have access to this information.
